Fellow Congregants,

I am absolutely overjoyed to tell you all that our Shul, Temple Israel, was one of the top 10 vote getters in the 2019 Capital Region Gives campaign by the Times Union. This means that we will receive $10,000 in free advertising in the Times Union, which will be assigned based on the rules of this campaign. This is a huge win for our Synagogue and community!

While the publicity and free advertising opportunities are exciting, what I am most proud of was the fact that we as a Shul came together with a common purpose, we voted (early and often), and we won because of our unity. The fact is we achieved this victory almost entirely, if not completely, on our own. Every vote for Temple Israel came from a Temple Israel member or someone who received direct contact from our members. This feat represents a truly remarkable effort on the part of our members and a real coming-together of our community and family.

I want to express my gratitude and appreciation to you all, and to everyone who you encouraged to vote for our Shul during this campaign. This win is a wonderful opportunity for our Shul and, more importantly, clearly demonstrates to the greater Albany Jewish and secular communities that we are a strong Synagogue because of the dedicated members who make up our extended family at our home away from home.

Thank you all and Mazel Tov on this win!
